SPORT AND NIGHT GUARDS

Teeth don't grow back.
Protecting them means a better chance of enjoying them for a lifetime.

Custom Sports Guards

Dr. Kerr and Dr. Flory are sports lovers. At Sunset Ridge Dental we support many community sports events and encourage a healthy, active lifestyle. That is why we offer custom protection for your teeth at an affordable price.

Generic sports guards can be picked up at local drugstores, but for a minimal increase in cost, we offer a custom made guard. Designed using manual impressions of your teeth, these guards fit snugly, offer ultimate protection and are built to stay in place during those times of impact.

Our guards are made using a plastic Pro-form material and are made in-house. Custom guards in most cases run about $150 or more. We want to make it easier for you to protect your teeth and those of your family and that is why our guards are only $35.00.

Custom Night Guards

Bruxism is a common condition of unconsciously clenching and grinding your teeth. This can be done while awake, but more often during sleep. There is no one cause for why one grinds their teeth, though some factors can include stress, age, and medications.

Once your tooth enamel is worn away. It’s gone for good.

What are the signs of bruxism?

  • Flat, fractured, chipped or loose teeth
  • Worn tooth enamel which causes exposed layers of your tooth
  • Tooth pain and sensitivity
  • Fatigued or tight jaw muscles
  • Locked jaw that won't open or close properly
  • Pain in the jaw, neck or face
  • Pain that can feel like an earache
  • Headache in the temples
  • Disrupted sleep

Our custom made night guards are created using digital impressions of your teeth. These impressions are sent to a laboratory where your night guard is created. Night guards can be made for the top or bottom rows of your teeth, but the top row is more common. They are made of a thin, thermoplastic material that ensures a snug, comfortable fit.

Night guards protect your teeth by preventing the grinding of your tooth’s enamel, and cracks or chips that can occur by the force of your clenching. When regularly worn, night guards can offer better sleep, less headaches and reduced jaw tension.
